The Zagros Mountain Trail is a 215km long trail through the Kurdistan region of Iraq. It begins in the village of Shush, and takes walkers along ancient pilgrimage routes, trading paths, and shepherds’ tracks to reach the foot of Mount Halgurd in the east.

The Zagros Mountain Trail connects over 30 rural communities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and encourages civic pride in those who live in these remarkable areas.
